MOUNT VERNON – Earland J. “Bud” Hysell Jr., 64, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at his residence. He was born on Feb. 7, 1957, in Columbus to Earland and Sarah (Jarrell) Hysell Sr.
Earland was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, archery, painting and all else outdoors. He was a guitarist and loved playing music. Cornholing was a family activity, and he was always winning. Earland was a member of the Riverview General Baptist Church in Elkhart, Indiana; the NRA and American Bass Anglers. Most of all, he loved being around his kids and grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Jeremy (Lori) Hysell, Matt (Danielle) Hysell and Brittani (Jason Beaver) Hysell; grandchildren, Alex, Kayla, Matthew Jr., Kamron and Carter Hysell; sisters, Kathie Hysell, Dorothy (Tom) Baggs and Patty (Ottis) Clemons; several nieces and nephews; and ex-wife, Cheryl Hysell-Colopy.
Along with his father, Earland was preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Hysell.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18; with calling hours from 11 a.m. until the time of service; at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050; with Pastor Rick Pirtle officiating. Burial will follow in Mount View Cemetery.
