MOUNT VERNON – The Mount Vernon Music and Arts Festival (MVMAF) is scheduled to return Friday, Aug. 13, through Sunday, Aug. 15, the event’s board of directors said.
Organizers cancelled last year’s Festival due to the COVID-19 pandemic; but co-directors Joseph Bell and Trina Trainor, along with the MVMAF board, have been working with Knox Public Health and the City of Mount Vernon to plan and bring back the event this summer.
The board invites the community to watch a Facebook Live broadcast at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5, to hear some initial details of this year’s Festival. WNZR’s Marcy Rinehart will talk with Bell and Trainor about the plans for mid-August, including an opening launch on Thursday, Aug. 12. The video will also be available for on-demand viewing.
MVMAF will abide by all state and local health and safety plans to ensure the well-being of everyone at this year’s event. Further details on the schedule will be released to the public in the coming weeks through local media, the Festival website (mvmaf.org) and the Festival Facebook page (Facebook.com/MountVerrnonMusicandArtsFestival).
