MOUNT VERNON – Dale M. Payne, 56, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family and his canine companion, Bruiser. He was born on June 19, 1964, in Mount Vernon, the son of Johney and Wanda (Kiser) Payne.
Dale was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife, Gayle (Stone) Payne, whom he married on Dec. 7, 1985; his children, Johney (Arley Clinedinst) Payne of Mount Vernon, Nyki (Mikey Burkett) Payne of Mount Vernon and Mandy Nogle of Texas; three grandchildren, Taylor, Kendall and Bailey Payne; his mother; and two sisters, Karen (Kevin) Steinmetz and Wendy (Mike) Fry, both of Mount Vernon.
Besides his father, Dale was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Sue Wheeler.
Friends will gather to tell stories from 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, at Dutch’s Bar and Grill, 70 Columbus Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050.
