MOUNT VERNON – John R. Goossens Jr, 67, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. He was born on Aug. 12, 1953, in Mount Vernon, to the late John R. and Betty (Hickman) Goossens Sr.
John graduated from the Knox County Career Center in Mount Vernon. He worked and retired from Weyerhaeuser in Mount Vernon. John enjoyed going to Pacemakers, racing, reading, movies, family games and working on mechanical jobs. His greatest joy was being around family and friends.
He is survived by his siblings, Mike (Ruth) Goossens, Kevin (Jessica) Goossens and Vickie Goossens; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will take place at a later date.
