MOUNT VERNON – Buddy E. Epling, 85, of Mount Vernon, passed away on April 20, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on Sept. 19, 1935, to Rosco and Iva (Howard) Epling of Logan, West Virginia.
In his spare time, Buddy enjoyed fishing, watching basketball and cheering on his Cleveland Browns.
He is survived by his children, Donald E. Epling of Mount Vernon, Kimberly E. Epling of Columbus and Douglas E. (Lori) Epling of Reynoldsburg; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Danny (Madeline) Epling of Greenville, South Carolina, and Ivan (Gail) Epling of Tallmadge; a sister, Karen (Skip) Newall; a brother-in-law, Lloyd Shaw; and many nieces and nephews.
Buddy was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ann (Elias) Epling; a brother, David Epling; and two sisters, Donna Meeks and Lyvonne Shaw.
Calling hours will be held at the Lasater Funeral Home from 10–11:30 a.m. on April 23, with a funeral service at 11:30 followed by interment at Moundview Cemetery.
