GAHANNA – Richard “Tom” Thomas Brown, 82, of Gahanna, passed away on April 13, 2021. He was born on July 17, 1938, to Arthur and Eva Brown in Mount Vernon.
Tom was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church for 45 years and a member of the Mifflin Presbyterian Church. He belonged to the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, and he rode for many years on the Greater Ohio Bicycle Adventure (GOBA) and Tour of the Scioto River Valley (TOSRV) bicycle rides.
Tom honorably served in the U.S. Army Reserve for many years after graduating from Mount Vernon High School in 1956. He loved The Ohio State Buckeyes and attended home football games for 40 years. He and Donna moved to Punta Gorda, Florida, 13 years ago to spend their winters in the sunshine.
Tom will be deeply missed by his best friend and wife of 56 years, Donna Porter Brown; daughters, Jennifer (David) Lynn Brown Wildermuth of Gahanna and Jodi (Shane) Suzanne Brown Ware of Thornton, Colorado; brother, Paul Brown; and grandchildren, Lauren Lee and Jackson Thomas Ware, and Chelsea and Andrew Wildermuth.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, William Brown.
A visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m. with service to follow at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Mifflin Presbyterian Church, 123 Granville St., Gahanna.
