MOUNT VERNON – Donna C. Gleeson, 85, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Dec. 3, 1935, in Mount Vernon, the daughter of Harry and Katherine (Dial) Ashcraft.
Donna previously worked for Big Bear and CVS Pharmacy in Mount Vernon. She was a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church and enjoyed baking, cooking, and working in her flower garden.
She is survived by her daughter, Lori Gleeson of Mount Vernon; grandsons, Daniel Schultz and Matthew Schultz; son-in-law, Steve Schultz; god-granddaughter, Katie McGuire; two brothers, Bill Ashcraft of Mount Vernon and Larry (Shirley) Ashcraft of Mount Vernon; a sister, Barbara Ronshausen of Mount Vernon; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Carroll Gleeson, whom she married in 1958; a daughter, Cheri Schultz; and a brother, Paul Ashcraft.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 15, at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050; where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ebenezer United Methodist Church or the Knox County Humane Society.
