MOUNT VERNON – Sean E. “Woobie” Thomas, 37, of Mount Vernon, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at his home. He was born on Nov. 27, 1983, in Grove City, Pennsylvania, to Cyrus Thomas and Susan Clarke.
Sean was a 2002 graduate of Mount Vernon High School where he lettered in track, cross country and band. He attended Muskingum College for a year. He was a former employee at Shoemaker Roofing, Dana Corporation and for 14 years at Showa. Sean was also an Eagle Scout.
He is survived by his parents, Susan (Thomas Cassell) Clarke and Cyrus (Jacqueline) Thomas; his sister, Alli Thomas; his brother, Cyrus J. (Willow) Thomas; and two nephews, Demetri and Gavin Thomas.
Friends may call from 5–7 p.m. on Monday, March 29, at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Gordy Harmon officiating. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association through JDRF.org., or to Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
