MOUNT VERNON – Richard “Rick” Bonnette, 59, of Mount Vernon, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at his home. He was born on Oct. 27, 1961, in Mount Vernon to the late John and Jocelyn (Fawcett) Bonnette.
Rick graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1979. He was employed at many local businesses over the years including Chattanooga Glass, Main Office Supply, the Knox County Recycling Center and, up until his passing, Service Welding Supplies. He was also well known as a DJ for Music to Go disc jockey services for 30 years.
Rick was a member of the Brandon Baptist Church. He was known for his soft heart and contagious personality. He enjoyed fishing, the Cincinnati Bengals, music and the undeniable love for his family.
He is survived by his wife, Allison Bonnette; his children, Kayce Bonnette, Katherine Bonnette, Justina Bonnette, Richard Bonnette II, James Bonnette II, Gabriella Bonnette and Jocelyn Bonnette; his step-son, Tristan Ray; three grandsons, Kian Bonnette, Hayden Ray and Bentley Ray; his brother, James (Patsy) Bonnette; and his canine companion, Popo.
In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Sophia.
In keeping with Rick’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
