I thought this was newsworthy and wanted a story written giving credit to a young man, Brock Stute, who reached out to help a single mother of two boys (one struggling with leukemia).
Today, I was out trying to shovel a very long driveway for my daughter, Sarah Fearn. She recently had shoulder surgery and is limited as to what she can lift. I am 64 years young, struggling to shovel at the end of the driveway, when along came this young man on a quad. He stopped and asked if I wanted him to plow.
"How much do you charge?" I asked.
"Twenty dollars," he replied.
"Well, I don't have cash; but if you give me your name and phone, I'll gladly give you something." I mentioned my daughter being unable to shovel.
He then replied, "I'll do it for free."
"No," I insisted on paying him.
So he began plowing and went above and beyond to clear our driveway.
What a blessing! So very thoughtful and helpful. While he may have done it for free, I gladly paid him $45.
Thank you.
