MOUNT VERNON – In one of the largest undertakings since its opening, Foundation Park Conservancy has partnered with several other Mount Vernon nonprofit organizations to develop a 6,400-square-foot under-roof facility for storage, along with six service bays and a separate office area.

The structure better serves the current needs and any future storage needs of the Conservancy and the partner groups.

The organizations involved include the park, the Mount Vernon Music & Arts Festival, Main Street Mount Vernon and the Knox County Convention and Visitors Bureau. Each of these organizations have storage needs for similar items: tables, chairs, tents, venue rental items, trailers for hauling, utility vehicles, etc.

The structure is located directly across from Ariel-Foundation Park’s rear Pittsburgh Avenue entrance, ideal for its closeness to the park and downtown Mount Vernon for events frequently hosted by the other organizations. This also gives each organization access to all of the above-mentioned items should one of the groups need extra chairs, a tent at the park for wedding overflow seating, etc.
