Election

GAMBIER – I have been a poll worker since 2006. I am very sick of hearing uninformed people go on and on about supposed election fraud. Massive election fraud is a lie. I suggest that anyone who doubts the integrity of our elections sign up to be a poll worker, undergo the training and spend a 15-plus-hour day doing their civic duty by working the polls. Maybe then, instead of disparaging those of us who selflessly give of our time and energy, you might have some respect for the process and for what makes America a functioning democracy.

Since the day Donald Trump lost the popular vote in 2016, he has been whining about election fraud. For months leading up to the 2020 election, he claimed that the only way he could lose was if there was massive fraud. It has all been a massive duping of the American public. There was no measurable fraud in either 2016 or 2020. Joseph Biden is our legitimately elected president, so please just accept that and move on.

Election

Now the fat lady has sung; and she finished on a very sour, flat note.

I think everyone reading this letter knows in their heart of hearts that the Democrats stole the election; it's the only chance they had of winning! Hell, Joe Biden couldn't beat the local dog catcher for the job in an honest election. I have often said that on a national level politics is the dirtiest, most corrupt game in town!

If I had a choice of making a deal with the Democrats of D.C. or the mafia, I would choose the mafia every time. At least they have a code of honor. We the American people have been raped! And we don't like it.

Buckle up America; we are in for a very dirty, very rough ride.

Ebenezer United Methodist Church Boy Scout Troop #324, April 30, 1965 - May 20, 1976 -- A Brief History

"It was an enjoyable and eventful journey."

In 1965, a courageous group of young parents met at Ebenezer United Methodist Church just north of Mount Vernon, Ohio, to form a Boy Scout Troop and Cub Pack, #324, under the expert guidance of Boy Scout Executive David Walker, local Scout Master Roger Heaton, and Cub Master Betty Reffett. In the ensuing years the Boy Scout Troop and Cub Scout Pack flourished! They participated in many scouting events. Kerry Fish, local Boy Scout, eventually served as Juneior Assistant Scout Master to Mr. Heaton.

For the scouts, one of the most exciting events was for the Scouts to attend a weekend camp out. Each troop would be required to collect firewood from a nearby woods, build a small fire, and cook a pancake. Then they would have to toss the pancake over a clothes line to catch it in the skillet. The troop would then have a full breakfast.

In 1976, Scout Master Roger Heaton was transferred to Wichita Falls, Texas, by his employer, Pittsburgh Plate Glass. By then most of the scouts were maturing and moving onward.

When Mr. Heaton moved from Knox County the Scouting program basically ended at Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Fast forward to 2020, Mr. Heaton passed away, reuniting with his wife, Janet, who passed years earlier. When going through Mr. Heaton's effects, his family came across the Scout flags from Troop #324. The flags needed some mending and cleaning, and after some tender, loving care, were generously donated by the Heaton family to my oldest son, Kerry Fish, who in turn, turned them over to me to return to the church. Since then they have been given to Dwayne and Elaine Grant, who have returned them to their rightful home of Ebenezer United Methodist Church for future generations to enjoy.
