MOUNT VERNON – Bailey Joe Baucum, 87, of Mount Vernon, passed away at OSU Hospital on Jan. 31, 2021, surrounded by family. He was born on May 9, 1933, to Cloyce and Jenny (Beane) Baucum in Calloway County, Kentucky.
Bailey was a member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. He was very fond of his daily routine of sitting on his porch swing in the morning and evenings with his beloved dog Lacey. He was very proud of the 35 years of employment he had at Grant Hospital.
He is survived by his children, Randy Baucum, Aletha (Michael Loveland) Baucum and Timothy Baucum; grandchildren, Steve Pridemore, Tinna Baucum, Tony Baucum, Trina (“BJ” Donald) Davis, Brian Baucum, Christopher (Andrea) Linton, Joshua (Nikki) Loveland and Alli Baucum; great-grandchildren, Zachary Hull, Jordan Vest, Jase Vest, Brianna Baucum and Damian Loveland; and many other extended family and friends.
Bailey was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Lou Baucum; a daughter, Sandra Snow; a son, Christopher Baucum; and a grandson, Tiki Baucum.
The family will have a celebration of life at noon on Feb. 27 at Utica Presbyterian Church; 9 S. Main St.; Utica, OH 43080.
