UTICA – On Jan. 22, five members of the Utica FFA chapter participated in the Agricultural Biotechnology Career Development Event (CDE).

During the CDE, the team members identified lab equipment, read an SDS sheet, took a general knowledge exam and completed a lab practicum.

Utica's team placed sixth out of 27 teams in the state competition. This means they will earn a plaque that will be placed on the wall outside of their classroom.

Team members were Georgia Gamble, who finished 15th out of 238 participants; Kenneth Davenport (19th); Kathryn Ramseyer (27th); Jenna Owens (82nd) and Zachery Cyphers (156th).

"Great job to all our team members!" chapter reporter Georgia Gamble said in a release.
