MOUNT VERNON – Yogurt containers, fruit cups, and butter and cottage cheese tubs join the list of items Rumpke Waste & Recycling is accepting at its curbside and drop box programs in Knox County.

"So yogurt lovers rejoice!" the web announcement stated. "It’s time to toss those tubs in your bin."

Plastic bottles and jugs have long been recyclable, but a grant from The Recycling Partnership allowed the company to add nearly $2 million in new sorting capability to better extract additional containers for recycling, Rumpke's website said.
