MOUNT VERNON – James “Jim” D. Organ, 69, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Jan. 9, 2021, at his home. He was born on Feb. 22, 1951, in Delaware to Wray and Chloe (Stevens) Organ.

Jim was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. He was also a member of the NRA. He enjoyed backpacking and canoeing all over the USA and Canada. He savored his time listening to blues music and enjoying a good cigar. He was passionate about renovating his historic home. Jim was also an expert carpenter, woodworker and gunsmith. He retired from Kokosing Construction Company where he worked as a supervisor/manager.

He is survived by his daughter, Tera Organ of Mount Vernon; grandson, Justin Organ of Mount Vernon; two brothers, Steve (Jane) Organ of Mount Vernon and Michael (Elaine) Organ of Columbus; nieces, Angela Bennett, Cheryl Starmer, Tammy Hill, Sonya Slater and Kristin Campbell; and nephew, Edward Organ.

Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his son, Justin Organ; granddaughter, Kerinne Organ; brother, Ed Organ; first wife, Mary Ann Organ; and second wife, Kathy Organ. 

Calling hours will be held at the Lasater Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 15, from 5-7 p.m., where a service will be held at 7 p.m.
