Snowmen from the Snowman Decorating Contest will be on display on the Youth Services floor of the main library. The library will close at 4 p.m. on Dec. 24 and will be closed on Dec. 25.

Friday, Jan. 1

This year's First Day Hike will be a self-guided walk due to the pandemic. A map will be handed out with a specific route. Different stations throughout the park will be featured wherein volunteers will provide historical, natural and interesting stories about an area. This event is free; but no lunch will be provided this year, only bottled water. There will also be a bonfire where walkers can warm up before and after their walk.

PLMVKC's Teen Writing Program continues its partnership with Breakbread Literacy Project to offer a series of virtual linked writing workshops for young creatives, starting with Poetry with Crystal AC Salas. Each workshop will have two sessions: a generative workshop where participants meet a guest author and complete a writing prompt; and a peer workshop where participants get feedback from the workshop group. TWP is free and open to young writers age 13-19 in grades 7-12. All are welcome!
