MOUNT VERNON – In an effort to extend availability to the citizens of Mount Vernon, Vernon City Council will host a Virtual Coffee with Council on Saturday, Dec. 19, from 9-9:30 a.m.

These sessions were started earlier this year to provide opportunities for residents to have face-to-face time with their elected council members. However, COVID-19 halted the practice until September when the virtual version was implemented.

"The pandemic has not stopped the work of the city; and as a council, the legislation before us is important and necessary for not only the day-to-day operations of the city but also in preparation for our future," said Samantha Scoles, chair of the Employee and Community Relations Committee. "These sessions are important to give the residents the opportunity to talk openly with council members about the issues that are important to them."
