FREDERICKTOWN – Robert L. “Bob” Colopy, 87, of Fredericktown, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020, at his home with his loving family at his side. He was born on December 14, 1932, in Knox County, to the late Donald and Florence (Blanchard) Colopy.

Robert was employed and retired from Therm-O-Disc as a tool and die maker after many years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and riding horses. But most of all, Robert loved the time he spent with his family. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Hornet; and he was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

He is survived by his daughters, Delores (Leon) Johnson, Kathy (Gary) Braddock and Joyce (Donald) Crosby; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; his sisters, Margie Samples and Marilynn Arnold; and his brother, Joseph (Jane) Colopy.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife Carol Colopy; his sons, Jeffrey and Chris Colopy; his brothers, Donald and Richard Colopy; and his sisters, Regina Randall and Florence Hildenbrand.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 24, beginning at 1 p.m. at St. Luke Cemetery in Danville, with Deacon Tim Birie as officiant. Military honors will be provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
