MOUNT VERNON – Eileen (Harmon) Diehl recently celebrated her 100th birthday. She was born on Oct. 30, 1920.
She married Clyde "Skip" Diehl on Sept. 25, 1943. He passed away on July 29, 2011, at the age of 91. They were together for nearly 68 years.
Eileen has been a resident of Mount Vernon all of her life. She is a long-time member of St. Vincent de Paul Church.
She and Skip raised seven children: Larry Diehl (deceased 2016), Linda Doup, Marilyn Miletic, Carolyn Conkle, Jeff Diehl, Mary Richard and David Diehl. There are 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, one step-grandchild and four step great-grandchildren.
Her family celebrated her birthday on Oct. 30 at her country home with a drive-thru that included signs, balloons, flowers and cupcakes. She received many appreciated cards, gifts and phone calls. She had a blessed and beautiful day.
