MOUNT VERNON – Monroe Arthur Blackburn, 80, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Monday, Nov. 2, 2020, in Delaware County, Ohio. He was born on July 29, 1940, in Cuyahoga County, to the late Harold and Juanita (Boucher) Blackburn.
Monroe was a teacher for the Clearfork Valley School system, from which he retired. He was also a veteran, having served in the United States Army.
He is survived by his sons, Chet (Vicky) Blackburn and Barton (Emily) Blackburn; his grandchildren, Robert Brooks, Ana Marie Blackburn and Katia Blackburn; and his sister, Judith Bechtel.
In addition to his parents, Monroe was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Blackburn.
In keeping with Monroe’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. The family will observe a private gathering at a later date.
