MOUNT VERNON – Larry Gene Faith, 76, of Mount Vernon, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2020. He was born on Sept. 5, 1944, in High Coal, West Virginia, to the late John Thomas Faith and Mildred Alice (Jewell) Lefler.
Larry retired from Ariel Corporation, where he was a machinist. He was in the U.S. Air Force for 13 years and proudly served his country, serving a tour in Vietnam.
Larry enjoyed cars and watching any kind of car races. He was a huge Ohio State football fan. He graduated from Howard High School in 1962 and remained a loyal Bulldog fan.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Rumfield) Faith; brother, Tom (Sue) Faith of Mount Vernon; son, Larry (Octavia) Faith of Florida; daughter, Laurey (Dean) Grogg of Fredericktown; granddaughter, Kristian Grogg; great-grandson, Broughan Grogg of Fredericktown; a nephew, Paul (Brenda) Faith of Butler; nieces Penny (Jerry) Lamp of Howard and Peggy (Kevin) Hyatt of Mount Vernon; six great-nieces and nephews; and 14 great-nieces and nephews.
Larry is also survived by a cousin Bobby (Fran) Jewell of Texas, whom he grew up with along with his brother. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
The family will hold a service at a later date to honor Larry and his life.
