Knox County Sheriff indent reports Oct. 23-26
The following incidents were reported by the Knox County Sheriff.
Oct. 23
Drug paraphernalia removed from Kenyon College dorm room
• Incident report - 12:05 a.m. - Duff St. in Gambier
Law enforcement responding to complaints of someone consuming drugs at Kenyon College located and disposed of drug paraphernalia.
Principal tells deputies students given alcohol
• Incident report - 10:31 a.m. - S. Division St. in Mount Vernon
Mount Vernon High School’s principal called deputies to report children at school had been given alcohol.
The students were interviewed by deputies and a report was filed.
Oct. 24
Drunken campground hooligans
• Incident report - 12:49 a.m. - Waterford Road in Fredericktown
Several drunken people were reported at a campground as well as a possible fight.
Deputies responding to the scene took a report.
Son allegedly makes suicidal remarks
• Incident report - 5:34 p.m. - Railroad St. in Centerburg
A father reported to police his son was making suicidal remarks and being disruptive.
Deputies responded. The father reportedly drove his son to a mental health evaluation. A report was field with juvenile court.
Neighbor loses limb, shade
• Incident report - noon - Nashville and Glenmont Road
Deputies responded to the scene after a neighbor complained another neighbor cutting a limb off a tree overhanging their property.
A report was taken at the scene.
Identity fraud reported
• Incident report - 8 a.m. - Martinsburg Road in Mount Vernon
The sheriff’s office reports that someone filed a complaint stating someone had opened a fraudulent account under their name.
A report was taken on the scene.
Domestic abuse reported on Columbus Road
• Incident report - 1:54 p.m. - Columbus Road in Mount Vernon
Deputies responded to a call for domestic violence and simple assault. Upon arrival they report speaking with both individuals allegedly involved in a domestic violence incident and a report was taken on the scene.
Oct. 25
Suicidal man driven to counseling by deputies
• Incident report - 7:25 p.m. - 2353 Millersburg Road in Utica
Deputies responded to a reported suicidal male. The man they met on the scene denied he was suicidal but did agree to speak to a counselor at Knox Community Hospital and later stay with a co-worker for the evening.
Woman arrested on way to get ‘sobered up’ at Bladensburg Marathon Gas Station
• Arrest report - 2:47 a.m. - New Guilford Road in Bladensburg
Deputies reported to calls indicating a highly intoxicated woman was driving a white Jeep near New Guilford Road.
Tina Grohe was arrested while sitting in her car at the Bladensburg Marathon Gas Station when police came upon her, reportedly smelling alcohol in the vehicle.
Grohe allegedly failed a field sobriety test and was taken to the Knox County Jail.
Oct. 26
Whitey’s Car Wash site of arrest
• Arrest report - At 1:48 a.m. - Whitey’s Car Wash located at Columbus Road in Centerburg
Deputies investigated a suspicious vehicle, a white 2006 Buick Rendezvous, and its driver. The driver, who reportedly did not a have a license but presented a social security number, was found to have a warrant for his arrest in Richland County where he was transported.
Father receives harassing Facebook message meant for daughter
• Incident report - 11:33 p.m. - Becky Lane in Mount Vernon
A telecommunications harassment report was filed on behalf of a daughter who said her father received a harassing Facebook message meant for her from someone she had blocked from her account.
Deputies noted an investigation was pending.
