MOUNT VERNON – Ethel A. Davis, 60, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Tuesday evening, Oct. 20, 2020, at the Laurels of Mount Vernon after a courageous battle with Lou Gehrig’s Disease. She was born on Nov. 16, 1959, in Mount Vernon, to the late Dale and Delores A. (Farley) Davis.

Ethel was a member of the Covenant Church in Mount Vernon and attended the Utica Presbyterian Church. She was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. She enjoyed crocheting, country and western music, her soap operas, her morning coffee, angels, attending the Utica Ice Cream Festival, and spending time with her friends at the Midwest Group Home and workshop. She was the first graduate from New Hope in Mount Vernon.

Ethel is survived by her aunt, Ella Blue of Utica; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her siblings, Pamela O’Byrne, Frank Davis, Mike Davis and Lester Workman.

The family will have a Memorial Service celebrating the life of Ethel at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25, at the Utica Presbyterian Church, 9 N. Main St. in Utica. Pastor Terry Holobaugh will officiate. Burial will follow in Homer Cemetery.
