HOWARD – Kevin Edward Frazee, 61, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on Friday, Sept. 25, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. With the love and care of his family and Hospice of Central Ohio, Kevin remained peaceful and comfortable. He was born in Mount Vernon on Jan. 21, 1959, to Margaret (Krownapple) Frazee and Gene Frazee.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Mary (Mullins) Frazee; and his three children Colin Frazee of Columbus, Tyler (Denny) Hoobler of Howard, and Sarah (Dara) Loch of Blacklick. He was the beloved grandfather (Papaw) to four beautiful grandchildren, Vincent Frazee, Ava and Charlotte Hoobler, and Isabelle Loch. Kevin is also survived by his three sisters, Geneen Schonauer, Renee (Doug) Gilbert and Madonna Rapp, all of Howard; as well as many special nieces and nephews.
Kevin was preceded in death by his loving grandmother Helena Krownapple; mother Margaret (Frazee) Summers; his father Gene Frazee; stepfather David Summers; brothers Jeff Frazee, Brett Frazee and Todd Frazee.
Kevin was truly an eccentric individual who always had an interesting story to tell. He was a master carpenter who was known for building custom homes, one-of-a-kind furniture pieces, and wooden arks and toys. He was always working on a project, and tinkering on his old 1928 Chevrolet was his favorite pastime. Kevin loved to tell jokes, go camping with his family, set off fireworks, and spoil his grandchildren.
He was a dedicated husband to his wife of forty years, Mary, who was his high school sweetheart and proclaimed love of his life. Kevin loved being a father and taught his children how to live life to the fullest and to be brave. He also was the very best Papaw to his four grandchildren who adored him, and he could make an ordinary day seem extra special. Kevin had a multitude of lifelong friends that he enjoyed spending time and swapping stories with.
The Lasater Funeral Home, located at 11337 Upper Gilchrist Road in Mount Vernon, will be handling the Celebration of Life Service. Gathering of family and friends for calling hours will be Thursday, Oct. 1, from 2-5 p.m.; followed by the Celebration of Life Service. A dessert reception will be held afterward in the Lasater Family Center.
