The Teen Writing Program Virtual Generative Workshop partners with Breakbread Literacy for a series of writing workshops for young writers age 13 to 19 in grades 7 to 12. It's a generative workshop where participants can meet a guest author and complete a writing prompt, and a peer workshop allowing participants to get feedback from the group will be held each session. The YMCA in Mount Vernon is offering a Fall Pool Party for kids and families. This event is open to all community members. If you are a member this is FREE, while non-members will pay a $5 guest pass or $20 family facility pass. There will be pumpkins, music, prizes and all the fall festivities! Come meet some of the Monroe Township Fire Department personnel and get your chicken dinner. The suggested donation is $10 for an adult meal and $5 for a kids' meal. Meals include chicken, potato salad, baked beans, roll, and a cookie. Kids, come in your Halloween costumes and get a treat bag! Due to COVID-19, we are asking that you stay in your vehicle. We will come to take your order and deliver it to you. All of our personnel will be wearing masks and gloves for your protection and ours. We will be accepting cash and credit/debit card.
