    The MVMS sixth-graders raised $2,619, over 25 percent more than the goal of $2,000 to sponsor the German Shepherd at the fountain. The German Shepherd will have Prince’s ear number painted on to identify him. Prince was Ed Reeves’s war dog when he served in the Vietnam War. Prince was one of only some 200 dogs out of the 4,000 who came back to the states. The rest of the sponsorship for the fountain German Shepherd came from anonymous donations and other sources.

    There was no machinery involved in the move. More than 200 Amish men picked up the barn, carried it over 150 feet, turned it 90 degrees and set it down on a new foundation at a farm owned by Joseph Hochsteter.
