Crews from United Aggregates Monday began the process of dismantling the water tower at Moundview Cemetery in Mount Vernon. Crews will be inspecting the unused tower for any asbestos before completely dismantling it; the tower is one of the original assets of the city water system but has since been replaced with two newer towers. Work is expected to take a week.
