WARSAW — Investigation is ongoing into a Tuesday Coshocton County fire that claimed the lives of three juveniles and left a fourth badly burned.
Capt. Dave Stone of the Walhonding Valley Fire District, based in Warsaw, said that the three who died were teens between the ages 12 and 15 and the age of the fourth was unknown. The group was apparently having a sleep-over at the barn where they were allegedly building a clubhouse.
“When we got there the structure was a total loss. It was on the ground,” Stone said about the fire team’s response.
The Walhonding Valley Fire District was assisted by the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office and the State Fire Marshal and all of the crews helped remove the bodies.
No names have been released and the condition of the fourth injured teen is not immediately known.
Coshocton County Sheriff Tim Rogers said that the fire marshal had started an investigation and was looking for an ignition source.
