Knox Community Hospital celebrates and recognizes all the many hours that our volunteers put back into our community. Guest Speaker Matt Starr spoke about his health crisis experience and the important roles volunteers play in any situation in healthcare. Professor Paula Turner, Kenyon College, whose specialty is astronomy, continued the event theme of stars through her portion of the program. The volunteers were treated to a luncheon, followed with the Pinning Ceremony and Special Awards.
KCH Volunteers contributed 16,246 hours in 2018. Areas included are: Monthly B/P Exams, Cancer Clinic, Central Registration, Front Desk Ambassadors, Gift Shop, Health Coaches, Lab Courier, KMP Ambassadors, Pain Clinic, Pet Therapy Dogs, Pharmacy, Rehab & Wellness, Specialty Clinics, Supply Chain, Surgery Waiting, and Volunteens.

Special Gold Presidential Awards went to Phil Belt and JoAnn Walton for 500-plus hours in one year.
A Distinguished Service Award was presented to Grace Hubbell for achieving 7,000-plus hours in a lifetime at KCH.
