BUTLER — Alan Wigton of the Richland County Historical Society will lead and narrate a walk about “Hemlock Falls: History and Lore” on Saturday, April 20 starting at 10 a.m. Walkers will visit the falls and nearby rock formations along the Clear Fork Valley Scenic Trail.
“This romantic destination drew pioneers, as well as earlier native inhabitants, for recreation and retreat since the dawn of time, as they used to say,” Wigton explained. “We will take part in that legacy and reflect on what’s been written and handed down about this idyllic corner of our county.”
This free event is open to the public. Meet at the First Congregational Church Camp on Bunkerhill North Road (0.9 mile south of S.R. 95). Please arrive before 10 a.m., as the gates will be closed once the walk begins.
Dress for the weather and wear shoes suitable for a footpath in the woods. Walk will be canceled for severe weather. Check the event page for updates: https://www.facebook.com/events/816891088659337/
