Sheriff's office arrest one during compliance sweep

On Wednesday March 27, 2019 the Knox County Sheriff’s Office began conducting their scheduled compliance check of all registered sex offenders residing in Knox County.
Officers are in the process of confirming all offenders are complying with their residential and court ordered requirements. Contact has been made with 88 of the 98 registered offenders resulting in 1 arrest.
Officers are continuing to follow up and contact the remaining 10 people. In addition, there are 4 offenders that reside in another county, but are employed in Knox County. Assistance on this effort has been provided by the Mount Vernon Police Department, Mount Vernon Municipal Court Probation, and Ohio Adult Parole Authority. In addition to the scheduled checks, deputies perform follow up investigations whenever information is received that a registered offender may be out of compliance.
