The Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County hosts a weekly radio show to share the latest information on best-sellers, music, movies, library system programs, history and other enjoyable facts and trivia.

Deputy Chase Law and Det. Sgt. Dan Bobo will join the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County’s first Brown Bag Chat of the fall as guest speakers on "The Life of a Law Enforcement Officer."

Youth Services librarians of the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County will show teens and elementary students how to create quick and simple videos using affordable items from the store or their houses.

A virtual Youth Storytime to be hosted by the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County every Tuesday and Thursday.

Saturday, Sept. 5

The Brickhouse Grind is hosting a Kids' Canvas class featuring a giraffe-themed project. Registration is required for this one-hour class and the cost is $15.

Tuesday, Sept. 8

Elementary craft bags are available on a first-come, first-serve basis on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month. This will be held until Dec 14.

Grades 6-12 Teen craft bags pick-ups are available for free on a first-come, first-serve basis every Tuesday through the Youth Services. DIY Gecko keychains will be provided for the week.

A variety of videos will be hosted by Teen Makerspace coordinators Morgan and Desiree through their YouTube channel. DIY Gecko keychain tutorial will be shared for the week.

Paint, draw, or sketch at the BFEC! Bring your supplies, including a chair and/or easel, and spend the evening hours painting in a peaceful setting. This is a self-guided activity with like-minded artists. Check the door of the Resource Center for each evening's painting location. Canceled in the event of rain!!

Library Labsters to host science videos mixed with comic relief, storytime, and cooking on their YouTube channel. Lakeside Storytime will be shared for the day.

Writers age 18 and above can join Authors Anonymous virtual meetup and discuss the craft, projects, provide feedback and share opportunities. Literary and Writing manager Jamie Lynn will open the session.

The Ohio Scenic Rivers Program is hosting its Virtual Mohican Crawdad Derby: Crawdad Hunt. Participants have until 6 p.m Friday, Sept. 11, to catch a crawdad, photograph and measure it, and email it to Carolyn.Mestemaker@dnr.state.oh.us.
