In honor of National Mentoring Month, GOAL Digital Academy proudly features its unique one-on-one mentorship program.

GOAL Digital Academy recently spearheaded its inaugural "Attendance Connection" event at the Marion Learning Lab, setting a new standard in educational engagement and support.

The Jobs for Ohio's Graduates Program is the Ohio affiliate of the national program Jobs for America's Graduates.

GOAL Digital Academy ensures each student graduates with top skills and attributes by offering a blended model of learning where students receive face-to-face adult support to help them learn, set goals and prepare for their futures.

GOAL Digital Academy has promoted Intervention Specialist LeRoy Smith to Assistant Principal.

Starting in June, GOAL Digital Academy offered a plethora of summer activities for students, ranging from fun summer book clubs to credit recovery for high school students.

To help establish a foundation of proactive behavior and academic outcomes across the GOAL Digital Academy student population, the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) team has launched an initiative school-wide to engage students at all academic levels. The team has implemented a “Student of the Month Program” in which students are recognized in three grade bands, elementary, middle school, and high school for behavioral achievements that match the PBIS initiative, not just for grades or attendance.

To help establish a foundation of proactive behavior and academic outcomes across the GOAL Digital Academy student population, the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) team has launched an initiative school-wide to engage students at all academic levels. GOAL has recently re-focused on PBIS as a result of two influences: response to the ODE Special Education Department’s emphasis on PBIS for all special education students, and in response to being awarded an Ohio School Wellness Initiative Pilot School Grant which emphasizes the continuance of PBIS Tier One supports and development of Tier Two supports.

GOAL Digital Academy’s Mount Vernon lab was opened in August 2011 through a partnership with Jobs for Ohio’s Graduates and Knox County Job and Family Services (JFS). The original lab was manned by only one teacher, Gregg Snouffer, in a tiny room at the Mount Vernon Salvation Armory. Mr. Snouffer enrolled the youth and worked in the lab tutoring all students. In 2015, GOAL had outgrown the Salvation Armory and began talking with Knox County JFS and community member, Mark Ramser, who assisted in GOAL’s move to the Escape Zone in 2016.

As GOAL Digital Academy continues in its 20th year of education, three valued staff members are wished a fond farewell as they have elected to retire. The staff members are Kristi Hamrick, Chris Deardurff and Cheri Nolting.

GOAL Digital Academy has been offering students in Central Ohio a different learning experience than traditional school for almost 20 years and is pleased to announce that enrollment for the 2021/2022 school year is open to the public for students in grades K through 12.
