Knox County Department of Job & Family Services is continuing to recognize community partners and individuals who assist in reaching the agency’s mission of making the lives of children and families better.

Mount Vernon City Schools Summer Food Program will be providing free lunch for students18 months to 18 years, come and get it! Meals must be eaten on site.

This year the Centerburg American Legion will present a special Memorial Day program on May 30 at 11 am.

It’s a joyful, toe-tapping Memorial Day Weekend tradition. Once again, the Knox Community Jazz Orchestra will kick off the summer concert series at Ariel Foundation Park. Celebrating its fifth year, the talented 20-member ensemble will perform on Sunday, May 29, at the park’s Schnormeier Event Center.

The next meeting of the Knox County Historical Society will be held on Wednesday, June 1, at 7:30 p.m. at the Historical Society Museum, 875 Harcourt Road in Mount Vernon, on Route 36.
