The Knox Memorial Theater in Mount Vernon has announced auditions for its holiday production of White Christmas, inviting performers to showcase their talents for the beloved Broadway musical.
Auditions will be held this Saturday, Aug. 1, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Knox Memorial Theater, with callbacks scheduled the following day, from 1 to 4 p.m. The production will be directed by Ian Fraser Ernsberger, with music direction by Christa Brady and choreography by Anthony Ingham.
The show features classic Irving Berlin songs such as Blue Skies, Sisters, Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep, I Love a Piano, and White Christmas. Auditions are open to performers ages 16 and older, except for the role of Susan Waverly. Those auditioning should prepare approximately 32 bars of a Golden Age musical theatre song and bring sheet music for the accompanist. A short dance combination will be taught, and performers interested in featured dance roles are encouraged to bring tap shoes.

Rehearsals will begin Sept. 17 and will be scheduled based on cast availability. Performances are set for Nov. 27–29 at the Knox Memorial Theater, which has been a cornerstone of arts and community engagement in Mount Vernon for more than a century.
The Knox Memorial, built in 1926, continues to honor Knox County veterans while serving as a hub for local theater companies, dance troupes, and musical performers. Its 1,000-seat auditorium regularly hosts regional and national touring artists, reinforcing its role as a vibrant venue for arts and humanities in the community.
