PUBLIC NOTICE 

MIDDLEBURY TOWNSHIP, KNOX COUNTY, OHIO ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS 2026 ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS 

Sealed Bids for Middlebury Township Roadway Improvements 2026 will be received by the Township Fiscal Officer, at the Township Hall located at 19758 Waterford Rd until 4:00pm local time, Date: Thursday, July 2, 2026, at which time the Bids received will be opened and read aloud. 

Bids shall be sealed and marked on the outside of the envelope as a bid for the Middlebury Township Roadway Improvements 2026 and mailed or delivered to 18219 Zolman Road, Fredericktown, OH 43019. 

Project Description: This project consists of roadway resurfacing on Township roads in Knox County, Ohio. Surface treatments may include hot mix asphalt surface courses, hot mix leveling courses and chip seal applications as indicated in the plans, drawings and specifications. 

Plans, specifications and bid forms may be obtained at the office of the Fiscal Officer at 18219 Zolman Road, Fredericktown, Ohio 43019. Due to limited hours, please call (740) 694-1584 to schedule a time for pickup of the bid package and delivery of the bid. Copies of the plans and specifications are available for viewing at the location cited above. 

Each bid must be accompanied by a bid guaranty in the amount of five (5) percent of the bid. Said guaranty may be in the form of a bid bond, bid guaranty and contract bind, a certified check or cashier’s check or a letter of credit. Bid guarantees must meet the requirements of section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. 

Upon awarding of the contract, the contractor shall provide a performance bond in the full amount of the bid. Said bond shall be in the name of the Middlebury Township Trustees. Said bidder shall enter into a contract with the Board of Township Trustees within fifteen (15) working days from the date of the award. Said bond shall remain in effect until the work has been accepted in writing. The successful bidder shall comply with the requirements of the Ohio Department of Commerce Wage and Hour Division and Chapter 4115 of the Ohio Revised Code. 

All Contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will, to the extent practicable use Ohio products, materials, services and labor in the implementation of this project. Additionally, contractor compliance with the equal opportunity requirements of the Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123, the Governor’s Executive Order of 1972, and Governor’s Executive Order 84-9 shall be required. 

The Township Board of Trustees reserve the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities.
