Children in Knox County are eligible for free breakfasts and lunches delivered once a week to their homes by the Mid-Ohio Food Collective, the organization announced. The program provides seven days of fresh, frozen, and shelf-stable food bundled in a single delivery.
Eligibility for the program is based on location and household income. It is available to children ages 1 to 18 in the East Knox and Danville school districts. The service runs from June 1 to August 12.
Families interested in participating can access additional information through a PDF with contact details and frequently asked questions provided by the organization. Sha-Wana Pressley, Director of Prepared Food for Mid-Ohio Food Collective, is available to discuss further details with members of the reporting team.
The initiative aims to support families during the summer months when school meal programs are not available.
