Several cadets of the Knox County Airport Cadet Flight received promotions and awards at a ceremony held on May 4, 2026, according to a May 13 announcement.
Cadet Airman Basic Neomi Hoskins and Cadet Airman Basic Abigail Hudson were promoted to Cadet Airmen after completing the Major General John Curry Achievement. C/Amn BayLee Mitchell was promoted to Cadet Airman First Class upon completing the General Hap Arnold Achievement.

Three cadets completed the Wright Brothers Achievement and advanced to the Non-Commissioned Officer ranks. Cadet Senior Airmen Trace Armstrong, Jenna Jerkowitz, and Benjamin Steele were promoted to Cadet Staff Sergeants.
C/SrA Carson Sanchez and C/SSgt Benjamin Steele received the Pro-Marksman Qualification badge from the National Rifle Association for proficiency at a recent event. C/A1C BayLee Mitchell received the Marksman Qualification, while C/SSgt Trace Armstrong, C/SMSgt Gabriel Hoskins, and C/2nd Lt Nathaniel Hoskins earned the Sharpshooter Qualification. The awarded cadets are permitted to wear a special NRA qualification badge on their Class B (blues) service uniforms.
The Knox County Airport Cadet Flight meets every Monday evening at 6 PM at the Knox County Airport terminal building. The Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program is open to youth ages 12-18 and focuses on leadership, aerospace education, physical fitness, and character development.
