Job seekers of all experience levels can connect with dozens of employers at the 2026 Career and Apprenticeship Fair, happening Tuesday, May 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the OhioMeansJobs Knox County Campus, 17604 Coshocton Road in Mount Vernon, where attendees can explore full-time, part-time, temporary, permanent, and internship opportunities.
From manufacturing to healthcare, government to retail, and law enforcement to skilled trades, the fair brings together one of the widest employer lineups in the region. More than 40 organizations have already registered, including Knox Community Hospital, Kokosing, FT Precision, Owens Corning, East Knox Schools, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Ohio Division of Wildlife, multiple unions, staffing agencies, home health providers, and local businesses. Additional participants such as Mauser, Replex, Becker Mining Longwall Solutions, and the Central Midwest Carpenters Union broaden the range of opportunities available to job seekers.
A major highlight this year is the focus on high-demand apprenticeships offering paid, hands-on training that lets participants earn while they learn. These programs provide a pathway into skilled careers without the burden of student debt, making them especially appealing to recent graduates, career changers, and adults re-entering the workforce.
Attendees are encouraged to bring several copies of their résumés, but help is available for anyone who needs it. Job seekers can stop inside the OMJ center before the fair for printing, or request résumé‑building assistance through the registration form. An Employment Services Specialist will follow up directly to help applicants prepare.
Registration for this outdoor event is encouraged but not required. Signing up simply helps organizers plan and allows staff to contact participants if weather forces a schedule change. The event is intended to run rain or shine, with the tent providing cover, but severe conditions may prompt cancellation. If that happens, registrants will receive a text alert at the number they provide.
With employers still registering and opportunities spanning nearly every sector, the Spring Career Fair offers a direct, accessible way for Knox County residents to take the next step in their career journey. For questions, job seekers can call 740‑392‑WORK. Whether you’re exploring new options or ready to make a move, this fair is built to help you get there.
