Pine Hill Independent Living, located on the campus of The Ohio Eastern Star Home, is inviting residents and community members to an afternoon of discovery with Exploring the State Parks of Ohio on Thursday, April 23, at 2:00 p.m.
This engaging seminar will be led by a representative from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), offering a lively introduction to the many outdoor adventures Ohio’s state park system has to offer.
Attendees will learn about scenic hiking trails, peaceful fishing spots, birdwatching opportunities, boating excursions, and seasonal events that make Ohio’s parks a treasure for all ages. The presentation is designed to spark curiosity and encourage participants to connect with nature, discover new destinations, and embrace purposeful outdoor activities.
The seminar is open to both Pine Hill residents and the wider community, making it a wonderful opportunity to gather, share experiences, and explore the natural beauty that surrounds us. This event comes at a celebratory time for The Ohio Eastern Star Home, which was recently honored as 2026 Business of the Year at the annual Knox County Chamber of Commerce Awards Gala. The gala, themed The Roaring Twenties, brought together many of the county’s outstanding organizations to recognize leadership, innovation, and service.
The Business of the Year Award is presented to a Chamber member business with more than 50 employees that has operated for at least five years, consistently contributes to Chamber and community initiatives, demonstrates integrity and fair practices, and shows innovation in solving business challenges.
Pine Hill Independent Living expressed gratitude to its dedicated team members, engaged residents, supportive families, and community partners. For decades, The Ohio Eastern Star Home has been committed to serving seniors with compassion, innovation, and excellence. The recognition underscores its role as both a trusted care provider and a vibrant community hub.
"To be recognized among such remarkable local businesses is truly meaningful to us," Pine Hill Independent Living wrote on Facebook.
With the upcoming seminar on Ohio’s state parks, Pine Hill continues that tradition of enriching lives—bringing people together to learn, explore, and celebrate the natural and cultural resources that make Knox County and Ohio special.
