On Feb. 18, 2026, the City of Mount Vernon Street Department will close Phillips Drive between South Mechanic Street and South Main Street for wire installation work requested by JP Electric. The closure is scheduled to last until Feb. 20, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
The road will remain open for emergency traffic during this period, with a single lane closure managed by a flagger or portable traffic light. According to the City of Mount Vernon Street Department, there may be times when the crew needs to stop traffic entirely for up to 10-15 minutes at a time in order to set poles and move equipment around.
The closure is necessary so that crews can lay wire out for the foundation crew working in the area. The department said these measures are intended to minimize disruption while ensuring safety during the project.
Residents or drivers with questions about the closure are advised to contact Dan Bone at 330-415-8508 for more information.
