The Works Ohio Center for History Art & Technology is set to host an event titled "Cocktails by the Fire: Fire & Ice Masquerade" on February 7 at 6:30 PM. This event will take place at The Works in Newark, Ohio, and aims to celebrate the Hot Glass Studio through a combination of art, science, and imagination.
Guests attending the event can expect live glassblowing demonstrations, cocktails served in handblown glass, and small bites from local vendors such as Block & Cleaver and Velvet Ice Cream. Attendees are encouraged to dress in cocktail attire with a "Fire & Ice" theme, choosing between fiery reds and golds or shimmering blues and silvers. Masks are optional but add an element of mystery to the evening.
Executive Director Fred Boll commented on the significance of the event: "This event is a beautiful fusion of artistry and atmosphere. It directly supports our Glass Studio, artists, hands-on education, and programming that inspires creativity and wonder throughout our community."
Proceeds from the event will benefit The Glass Studio as well as The Works' mission to connect history, art, and technology. The organization seeks to expand access to creative learning across Licking County.
Tickets for the event are priced at $50 for members and $60 for non-members. A VIP Value Package is available for $90 members or $100 non-members, which includes additional perks like a handblown glass tumbler.
