Mid Ohio Karate 4 Kids will host a series of Kids Grappling Seminars led by Doug Benavides, beginning Jan. 25 and running through April 19.

The seminars are open to children interested in learning fundamental grappling techniques, with sessions designed to build confidence, fitness, and mental resilience. Each seminar runs from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. and will be held at 107 North Main Street, Fredericktown.

Benavides will lead six sessions, including single-day and multi-day options. The first seminar is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 24. February sessions will be held Feb. 7 and 15, followed by March seminars on March 14 and 28. The final two-day seminary will take place April 18-19.

Costs vary by sessions, with single-day rates ranging from $20 to $25 and bundled pricing available for multi-date attendance. All payments must be made in cash, and a signed waiver is required for participation.

Attendees are asked to wear karate pants and a T-shirt or other loose, comfortable clothing. The seminars will focus on core grappling skills, including strength development, endurance training, and balance control. Grappling offers physical and mental benefits for young athletes, including improved muscle strength, cardiovascular fitness, and core stability.

Parents or guardians interested in registering their children should contact Mr. Tarr at (567) 241-2648.
