A three-vehicle crash in Knox County, Ohio, resulted in the death of one person early Wednesday morning. The incident occurred at the intersection of Township Road 148 and State Route 586 in Clay Township. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Kayla Jacobs, 30, from Newark, Ohio, was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox northbound on Township Road 148 when she failed to yield at a stop sign. Her vehicle entered the intersection and collided with a 2009 Honda Fit driven by Andrew McGee, 31, from Utica, Ohio.
Following the initial collision, McGee's vehicle veered left of center and struck a westbound 2014 Ford Fusion operated by David Holmes, 54, from Warsaw, Ohio. McGee was pronounced dead at the scene. Jacobs and her five-year-old passenger were unharmed. Holmes sustained minor injuries and was taken to Knox Community Hospital for treatment.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol confirmed that all individuals involved were wearing seatbelts except for McGee. There is no suspicion of alcohol or drug use contributing to the crash. The investigation is ongoing with assistance from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and Bladensburg Fire Department and EMS.
