The City of Mount Vernon Street Department has announced a temporary road closure on North Gay Street, scheduled for January 15, 2026. The closure will take place between East High Street and East Chestnut Street to facilitate geotechnical explorations related to a courthouse project.
The closure will affect only the left lane, with the northbound lane remaining open for emergency traffic. Access to the parking garage at 5 North Gay Street and the main steps will be maintained, while the parking lot and drive-thru at 3 North Gay Street will be closed. Adjacent street parking near 3 North Gay Street will remain available.
