Legal Aid of Southeast and Central Ohio (LASCO) is organizing a free legal assistance event for seniors in Knox County. The event aims to help low-income residents aged 60 and above with wills, probate matters, and advance directives. Advance directives allow individuals to specify their medical care preferences if they become unable to communicate.

Participants will have the opportunity to consult with a lawyer at no cost. Pre-registration is required, and interested individuals should contact Candice at 614-737-0121 for an appointment. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, January 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Station Break Senior Citizens Center located at 160 Howard Street, Mount Vernon, OH.

Local attorneys interested in volunteering can reach out via email at [email protected]. LASCO, previously known as Southeastern Ohio Legal Services, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free civil legal aid to low-income individuals and families in central and southeast Ohio. Their services cover various legal issues including housing, family law, and domestic violence.
