Local service clubs in Knox County are being called to participate in the annual Friendly Competition to support the 44th Food For The Hungry (FFTH) Campaign. The campaign, organized by Food for the Hungry - Mount Vernon, aims to raise $340,000 to assist families in need during the holidays and throughout the year.
Kathy Brechler, Director of Food For The Hungry, expressed enthusiasm about community involvement: "We're incredibly excited to see the community come together once again to support this important cause." She highlighted that local clubs have a significant opportunity to impact families directly, especially during the holiday season.
The funds raised will be leveraged through a partnership with the Mid-Ohio Food Collective. Each dollar donated translates into $4.56 worth of buying power, enhancing the ability to provide food assistance.
Clubs can start collecting donations immediately until December 8, 2025. Donations should be submitted in an envelope marked with the club's name and delivered to WRP CPAs at 1684 Venture Drive, Suite B, Mount Vernon.
Participants will be acknowledged during the FFTH LIVE event on December 12, 2025. The club raising the most funds will feature a representative on a live broadcast from Memorial Building.
FFTH LIVE will be available on local radio stations and streamed online. Updates will be provided throughout the day via various media channels.
