The East Knox Board of Education is scheduled to hold its regular meeting on November 13, 2025, at 6:00 PM in the Elementary Cafeteria. The session will focus on conducting the school district's business and includes a designated time for public participation as outlined in the agenda.
Board President Lindsay Bush will lead the meeting, which begins with the Pledge of Allegiance and a reading of the vision, mission, and core values of East Knox Local School District. The board members include Randy Reese as Vice President, along with Larry Campbell, Alan Huffman, and Kathy Tate.
During the meeting, Mr. Aaron Hinchliffe from OSBA will make a presentation. The Treasurer's report will be reviewed, including approval of minutes from the October 9 meeting and the October financial report.
Building reports will cover updates from both the elementary and Jr./Sr. high schools, with Mr. Sprague discussing athletic achievements. Superintendent updates will include discussions with student representative Anna Cline.
The board is expected to approve several recommendations by Superintendent recommendations such as renewing membership in the Knox County Chamber of Commerce for $345 and adding new sections to the Jr./Sr. High School Student Handbook regarding Career-Technical Assurance Guide (CTAG) and Industry Recognized Credential Transfer Assurance Guide (ITAG).
Personnel changes are also on the agenda. Resignations include Gage Steinmetz as spelling bee coordinator for 2025-2026 and Kevin Oldaker's retirement effective May 22, 2026. Brianna Hickman resigns from food service but will be employed as Attendance/A.D./Communication Secretary starting November 24, 2025. Christina White joins food service on November 24, while Jessica Eaton starts as a teacher on November 17.
Additional staffing decisions involve approving teachers for after-school programs and various non-renewals for non-teaching contracts in sports coaching positions for next year.
Supplemental contracts for roles such as Junior High Boys Basketball Coach Lillian Weimann and Art Club Advisor Samantha Carey are also set for approval.
The board plans to adjourn after completing all agenda items.
