Several cadets from the Knox County Airport Cadet Flight, part of the Civil Air Patrol - Ohio Wing, were promoted during a ceremony at Knox County Airport on November 3. The event was attended by Col. David Dlugiewicz, Ohio Wing Commander, and State Representative Beth Lear, who is also a Legislative Member of the Civil Air Patrol.
Cadets Trace Armstrong, Asher Bressi, Chaiah Bressi, Griffin Davies, Mayson Garrett-Fike, Brianna Myers, Benjamin Steele, Lukas Yarman, and Seth Yarman were promoted to Cadet Airman after completing the General John F. Curry Achievement. Carson Sanchez was promoted to Cadet Airman First Class upon finishing the General Hap Arnold Achievement. Additionally, Nathaniel Hoskins received recognition for completing the Neil Armstrong Achievement.
The Knox County Airport Cadet Flight holds meetings every Monday evening at 6 PM at the airport terminal. The Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program is designed for youth aged 12-18 and emphasizes leadership skills, aerospace education, physical fitness, and character development.
Founded in 1941 and recognized as an official civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force seven years later, Civil Air Patrol operates as a nonprofit organization focused on youth development and aerospace education.
